Constante is a personal app to organize tasks and reminders, goals and habits, and
expenses and income. This page explains what information is stored, where it lives, and
who can see it.
What's stored only on your phone
By default (guest mode, without signing in), all the information you enter —your name,
tasks and reminders, goals, habits and their daily check-ins, categories, expenses,
income, budgets, and your preferences (language, theme, sounds, tab order)— is stored
only in a local database (SQLite) on your phone. None of this leaves your device or goes
through any server.
Optional cloud backup
If you choose to sign in, you can turn on a backup of your data to a server (Supabase).
It's entirely optional: the app works the same without signing in, and you can sign out
at any time without losing what's on your phone.
When you're signed in and backing up:
- A copy of your data (tasks, goals, habits and their check-ins, expenses, income,
budgets, categories and your preferences) is uploaded to a protected table on the
server.
- The backup uploads automatically when you sign in, whenever the app goes to the
background (at most every 5 minutes), and with the "Back up now" button in
Settings.
- Each person can only read or write their own backup (row-level security, configured
server-side); nobody else, not even with access to the project, can see another
person's backup through the app.
- Alarm-style reminders (routines) don't travel in the backup yet — they stay only on
the phone where they were created.
You can delete your backup at any time by deleting your account (see
Delete account).
Signing in
There are two ways to sign in, and neither uses a password:
- With Google: you pick a Google account in the phone's own account
picker. Constante only receives your name, your email, your profile picture and an identifier for your
account, which it uses to identify you. It doesn't access your Gmail, contacts, files
or any other data in your Google account.
- With an email code: you type your email and we send you a 6-digit
code. The code isn't stored anywhere beyond the screen while you type it.
If you sign in with Google and with a code using the same email, it's the same account
and the same backup.
Notifications and bank messages (automatic detection)
Constante can help you log expenses and income automatically by recognizing the
notifications Nequi and Bancolombia SMS send to your phone. This feature:
- Is off by default and requires turning on "Automatic detection" in
Settings and granting Constante notification access from Android's settings.
- Only reads, on your own phone, notifications whose text starts with "NEQUI:" or
"Bancolombia:". Your other notifications aren't processed.
- Interprets that text with simple rules (no artificial intelligence or third-party
services) to recognize the amount and whether it's an expense or income — all
processing happens on your phone.
- That text is never sent to any server. Only if you confirm the
transaction is the matching expense or income created in your local database (and it
travels in the backup like any other expense or income, if you're signed in). Nothing
is saved without your explicit confirmation.
- So you can diagnose why something wasn't detected, Constante keeps —only on your
phone, visible in Settings— a log with the date and time of every bank notification
received and its full text. For notifications that aren't from a bank, that log only
stores the sending app's name and the time, never the text.
Error reporting
Today Constante doesn't send any error reports or usage statistics to any server. If
anonymous error reporting is added in the future, this page will be updated to explain
it before it's turned on.
What Constante doesn't do
- No ads.
- No third-party trackers or behavioral analytics.
- Never sells, rents, or shares your data with anyone.
Your rights
If you're a resident of Colombia, you have the rights granted by Law 1581 of 2012 on

proof of the authorization given, be informed about how it's been used, revoke that
authorization, and request deletion of your data when the law isn't respected. You can
exercise these rights by deleting your account from the app (see
Delete account) or by writing to the contact email
